Are people in Africa really moving as much in one direction – into towns and cities – as is commonly believed? There are more young people in the African population than ever before – approximately 70% of Africa’s one billion people is under the age of 30. Furthermore, continuing a long-term trend, many rural youths are reportedly choosing not to pursue livelihoods in the agriculture sector, especially as farmers.
